WHERE POETRY LIVES

I’m no poet, yet tonight I’ll try,

To weave you verses that won’t pass by.

If comfort is what your heart does need,

Then let these lines be the words you read.

I thought for a while, and then I found,

Your smile’s the poem that goes around.

You say it’s crooked — I call it true,

A piece of heaven that lives in you.

I love how your laughter can’t be contained,

A joy so pure, it can’t be explained.

In your eyes, a world untold,

A story brighter than stars of gold.

I wrote till my hand grew tired and sore,

Of all the beauty I still adore.

Each word a prayer, a gentle plea,

That fate will bring you close to me.

And if the night feels heavy & long,

I’ll weave you courage to make you strong.

Even the silence, dark and deep,

Can’t steal the dreams you’re meant to keep.

Through every distance, near or far,

You’re my anchor, my steady star.

No storm could ever change the view,

The light I find begins in you.

So take these lines, a vow, a song,

To stand beside you, sure and strong.

A promise whispered, soft but true,

That every road will lead to you.

For though I stumble, though I fall,

You are the poem that holds it all.

And deep inside, my heart believes,

The best of our story is yet to be.
